Thank you very much for your continued support of OkuMasa.
At OkuMasa, we have decided to review both our lunch and dinner menus as we think about the future of the restaurant.
Through daily operation, we reconsidered what we truly want to value and what kind of style can continue sustainably here in Kunigami Village, in a way that is better for both the community and our guests.
Lunch will begin with our popular island vegetable curry
Our lunch service will start mainly with a special curry made with plenty of island vegetables.
We will begin gradually. We are preparing a system that will allow you to check our open lunch days online.
As operations become more stable, we will also expand the menu in a way that feels unique to OkuMasa.
What OkuMasa has always valued is sharing the appeal of Yanbaru island ingredients, especially island vegetables, in a clear and satisfying way.
With this review, we will end the pasta and Western-style island ingredient courses that had been offered at dinner. We have served dishes using techniques from many parts of the world, but after reviewing the overall flow of the restaurant, we concluded that we need to move toward a style that can be served more steadily and in better condition. For that reason, we have decided to end the pasta course for both lunch and dinner. This decision comes from prioritizing a system in which local staff, rather than Chef Arasaki alone, can welcome and serve guests. We sincerely apologize to our regular guests and ask for your understanding.
Curry works very well with island vegetables and allows their flavor and nourishing depth to come through naturally.
In OkuMasa’s style, we aim to create a dish with plenty of island vegetables that feels satisfying and good for the body.
- At lunch, a reasonably priced menu where you can enjoy plenty of island vegetables
- At dinner, a special shabu-shabu experience for slowly savoring island vegetables and the deep flavor of the ingredients
From here, OkuMasa will begin again as a restaurant that clearly shares the appeal of island ingredients such as island vegetables. We will build a restaurant that expresses, more directly and more strongly, the flavors that can only be offered from this place.
We will continue moving forward by carefully shaping each step. Thank you for your continued support of OkuMasa.
