OkuMasa

Growing Comfortably Together with the Community

To Everyone Who Supports OkuMasa

OkuMasa values being a restaurant that can grow together with the community.

Right now, OkuMasa is moving forward one step at a time by working with part-time staff and business partners on many things that the owner alone could never accomplish.

In particular, we have been greatly supported since last year by Fukurasha, a local Type B continuous employment support facility in Kunigami Village.

They help us sort coffee beans, checking and classifying them from the green-bean stage, assist with garden maintenance, and even grow basil from Kunigami. Each of these contributions is an important force supporting OkuMasa’s flavor and appearance.

The results clearly appear in the aroma and flavor of our house-roasted coffee, the presence of the restaurant, and each plate of food.
We are deeply grateful to everyone at Fukurasha for their careful work every day.

Thank you for joining our meal gathering the other day.
Next time, we will do our best to make it even more delicious and enjoyable.

From here, we hope to expand this collaboration through homemade honey, as well as products made with EM soap and beeswax. We would be happy to work together on production and processing rooted in the community, and to share them as valuable products.

Through Food, for Local Companies as Well

OkuMasa is also planning to provide lunch meals as part of employee welfare for local companies and workers.

For example, we hope to deliver dishes that are gentle on the body and energizing for the afternoon, such as taco rice filled with island vegetables and fragrant spice curry.

Our scale is still small, and with chronic staff shortages, there are limits to what we can do. Even so, we want to be a presence that contributes to the community over the long term through food. This small initiative begins with that wish, together with business owners’ care for their staff.

Eating is an ordinary act that supports everyday life, yet it also has the power to energize people and soften the heart.
Nothing would make us happier than helping, even a little, to support the health and smiles of people working in this community.

We Are Looking for Partners Who Can Grow Together with Us

Recently, we have received many applications for part-time positions, and we are full of gratitude.

Still, we have not yet reached a hiring decision.
That is because OkuMasa is not simply a “workplace.” We strongly hope to build a community with people who share our values and walk together with mutual consideration.

If we can meet someone who is interested in cooking, hospitality, and living in harmony with nature, and who can spend their days with a rich heart and sincerity, there would be no greater joy.

A Place That Nurtures the Community and Is Nurtured by It

OkuMasa will continue aiming to be a restaurant where guests can experience not only true deliciousness, but also heartfelt warmth, kindness, and connection.

From one plate of food and one encounter, we hope to gradually nurture a positive cycle in the community.

We also hope to be a place where everyone involved can connect comfortably and with peace of mind.

Thank you for your continued support.
